DIFFERENTIAL SCANNING CALORIMETER IN MAGNETIC FIELD

Our homemade differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), based on thermoelectric modules, is able to measure the absolute specific heat with a relative error less than 3% and the latent heat of first order transformations. It works in vacuum (10-5mbar), in a temperature range between 250 K and 420K and in a magnetic field up to 1.85 T.

DIRECT TEMPERATURE VARIATION PROBE AND SIMULATION OF THERMOMAGNETIC CYCLES

A dedicated probe, based on a Cernox temperature sensor, permits the direct measure of the temperature change in a magnetic sample due to the variation of an applied magnetic field (up to 1.9T). Through a special experimental setup it is also possible to study the proprieties of materials during the repetition of thermomagnetic cycles, thanks to a pneumatic piston which move the sample between two regions with different temperatures and magnetic field values.
