Curriculum vitae

Born in 1969 in Ravenna, graduated in Bologna in 1997 with a thesis on the facies analysis of the Messinian post-evaporitic unit, mostly siliciclastic coarse-grained fluvio-deltaic deposits, of the eastern Romagna Apennines.
Ph.D in sedimentology in 2002 at the Bologna University with a thesis on the physical stratigraphy, microscopic sedimentological analysis and magnetostratigraphic characterization of the deposits related to the Messinian salinity crisis.
Between 2001 and 2010 was engaged at the Modena Technical Survey of Emilia-Romagna Region and worked on slope stabilization, reduction of the hydrogeological hazard and the landslides integrated monitoring.
Since 2003 is stratigrapher and sedimentologist at the Parma University.

The main researches were focused on the Neogenic deposits of the Mediterranean area with special attention to the events related to the Messinian salinity crisis; subordinately worked on the turbiditic deposits of the Adriatic foredeep (Marnoso-arenacea and Laga units). The research activity was conduit on many Mediterranean areas as Northern and Central Apennines, Calabria, Sicily, Spain, Cyprus, Greece.The main expertise was acquired on physical, sequence and seismic stratigraphy, facies analysis of siliciclastic (coarse-graine fluvio-deltaic deposits) and evaporite (shallow- to deep-water, both primary and clastic deposits), gravity flow sedimentology, integrated stratigraphy, palaeomagnetism, cyclostratigraphy, isotope geochemistry.
